Daily Routine: Der Tagesablauf

Today we are looking at verbs describing a daily routine. All the verbs listed are in the infinitive form and you can check out how to use them by looking them up one by one here on this blog. Some of the verbs are separable verbs and there are also a couple of reflexive ones. Two verbs are both: reflexive and separable (sich anziehen, sich ausruhen).

Translate the following text into English.

Ich wache um 6:30 Uhr auf. Zehn Minuten später stehe ich auf. Ich dusche mich und ich putze mir die Zähne. Danach ziehe ich mich an und ich kämme mich. Um 7:30 Uhr frühstücke ich. Um 8 Uhr gehe ich in die Schule. Dort esse ich gegen 13 Uhr Mittag. Am Nachmittag trinke ich eine Tasse Tee. Um 16 Uhr gehe ich nach Hause und ich ruhe mich aus. Dann mache ich meine Hausaufgaben und manchmal ein bisschen Hausarbeit. Wenn ich damit fertig bin, spiele ich meistens am Computer oder ich surfe im Internet. Gegen 18 Uhr esse ich Abendbrot und danach sehe ich oft fern. Später wasche ich mich und gegen 22:30 Uhr gehe ich normalerweise ins Bett.

I wake up at 6:30am. Ten minutes later I get up. I have a shower and brush my teeth. After that, I get dressed and comb my hair. At 7:30am I have breakfast. At 8 o’clock I go to school. There I eat lunch at 1pm. In the afternoon, I drink a cup of tea. At 4pm I go home and do my homework and sometimes a bit of housework. When I am finished with that, I usually play on the computer or surf the internet. At about 6pm I have dinner and after that often watch TV. Later, I get washed and at about 10:30pm I go to bed.
